The Lorien Hotel & Spa in Alexandria, Va., has a Dream Menu, with a collection of services and amenities to get a good night's sleep. Want a Bed Wedge that elevates the upper torso? A Snore-no-More pillow? An old-fashioned hot water bottle? Press the "Dream" button on the guestroom phone, and it'll show up in your room. USA Today, 2012
This oasis in the heart of Old Town has so much to offer its guests that they also could simply take your keys and most everything you would want would be on site, with the added bonus of all the wonderful features Old Town offers just steps away. A splendid boutique hotel, world class restaurant, tasting room, a delightful market and a magnificent spa all located in one complex in the 1600 block of King Street. This place is really cool! Old Town Crier, 2012
The Lorien Spa in Old Town Alexandria offers a Rejuvenating Caviar Dream Creme facial, which is packed with the super-luxe ingredient. It's a can't-miss splurge if your skin feels extra-deprived. Refinery 29, 2012
The only area Kimpton property with an in-house spa, the Lorien specializes in relaxing treatments that match the hotel's "dream menu" concept. We suggest the aromatherapy massage ($110 for 50 minutes), which uses 98 percent organic products and a custom-selected scent to help you drift off. We hear the facials are great, too. Washingtonian, 2011
The hotel's color scheme is gorgeous, in shades of blue, gray, and white. Lots of mirrors increase the feng shui in the hallways, and the library's white-covered book collection is a conversation starter. The full-service luxury spa uses organic and paraben-free products by Kerstin Florian. The service is meticulous, friendly, and quick. Whirl Magazine, 2011
The bonus here is that there are two fantastic restaurants and one gourmet market as part of this establishment. We would come to these restaurants every time I visited. Brabo is the place to get a fine meal, have a business dinner, or go for a special occasion. Try the pork shank…Our regular spot was Brabo Tasting Room next door. A casual neighborhood spot with a wood fired oven. I would go here just for the delicious bread and butter with pink salt. The mussels are to die for, as are the soups, salads, and wood grilled pizzas. The Loft on Broome, 2011
The spa is as relaxing for visitors as it is for hotel guests—all spa-goers get access to the changing facilities, steam room, showers, and fitness center. Washingtonian, 2011
The Lorien Hotel & Spa slaps you in the face with one word and that is "calmness". This was clearly evident due to the splattering of "spa" colors all around the hotel. There were tons of blues, creams, and calming shades of grey, it almost felt like I checked into some quaint hotel on the Irish coast. My Hotel Guy, 2011
Lorien Hotel & Spa provides a luxuriously modern twist to anyone's experiences in Old Town Alexandria in Virginia…Guests can enjoy spending unlimited time in the relaxation room prior to and after their spa appointments. The room is filled with tranquility in ambient colors, oversized lounging chairs and complimentary snacks and teas. The Hill, 2011
There are many ready-made meals, picnic items, fresh meats and cheeses, and a huge selection of wines for sale. If we lived anywhere near this deli, we'd be frequent customers for sure. The Wine Travelers, 2011
Top Listed in Zagat Survey 2011 Washington, DC
Robert Wiedmaier (Marcel's, Brasserie Beck) wins "gustavory bravos" for this "sparkling addition to Old Town," a "sophisticated" Belgian-French hotel restaurant (Brabo) proffering "intriguing" fare and a "deep wine list" in "spacious" digs; naturally, a "swanky clientele" has put it on the "power rotation," while more "relaxed" types who dis its "minimalist" decor and detect a "stuffy" vibe head next door to the "ultracasual" Tasting Room, replete with "mussels with muscle," "excellent" service and "moderate prices."
