An Animal Attraction

Your pets are welcome here

At Kimpton Lorien Hotel & Spa, when we say we welcome everyone, we also mean your furry (or feathery or scaly) family members. No matter the size, weight, or breed, we welcome your pet (or pets, as long as they fit through the door) at no extra charge at all. In addition to plush pet pillows and Wash’n Zip pet beds, we provide food and water bowls and mats, courtesy bags for dog walking, and special door hangers so you can alert our staff when your pet is in the room.

In other good news, Old Town Alexandria goes to great lengths to make dogs part of the party at local parks, restaurants, and even on excursions like Potomac River Boat Company’s Canine Cruises, offered monthly from May through September.

Give your dog the freedom to roam off-leash at Montgomery Park (Fairfax and First streets) and the Dog Run Park at Carlyle (1108 Jefferson Street), or head to nearby Founders Park (Princess and Union streets), Waterfront Park (Prince and Union streets), or Windmill Hill Park (Wilkes and Lee streets). Check out the Visit Alexandria website for more dog-friendly activities in the area.

Local restaurants that welcome dogs on their outdoor patios include Le Refuge, Joe Theismann’s Restaurant, La Madeline, Mai Thai, Virtue Feed & Grain, and Don Taco.

Looking for grooming services or doggy day care? Olde Towne School for Dogs is a local institution providing a wide range of pet supplies and services. Our staff is happy to provide further recommendations – just ask!
